“Herod was furious when he realized that the wise men had outwitted him. He sent soldiers to kill all the boys in and around Bethlehem who were two years old and under, based on the wise men’s report of the star’s first appearance.” Matthew 2:16 NLT

“The chief priests together with the experts in Moses’ Teachings and the leaders made fun of him in the same way. They said, 42 “He saved others, but he can’t save himself. So he’s Israel’s king! Let him come down from the cross now, and we’ll believe him.” Matthew 27:41-42. GW

“The wicked are not so, But they are like chaff which the wind drives away. 5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. 6 For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the wicked will perish.” Psalm 1:4-6 NASB.

As sinners we always hurt others by our sin. There are outward circumstances and inward circumstances, as sin effects our attitudes, motives, and perspective. We all have sinned. We all have unintentionally hurt others. And we all have had our souls affected by our wrong choices. I’m so thankful for GOD’s Grace for me, but regret the effects it left on others.

The two above examples, Herod and the High Priests, were not only sinners, but evil. Evil people take pleasure in destroying the lives of those who stand in their way. Harm to others is their delight. The devil is evil.

Most of us don’t fit in the category of evil, but are we wicked? The above Psalm pronounces GOD’s Judgement on these people; so it’s important to know

“Search me [thoroughly], O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! 24 And see if there is any wicked or hurtful way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:23-24 AMPC.

These people aren’t out to destroy, but to afflict pain and suffering on those that they see as an opponent. Their souls are in jeopardy as well.

Beginning at the first Promise of a MESSIAH in Genesis 3:15 the devil tried to prevent His coming. Cain killed Abel, the flood left one family, and Israel has been under constant attack. Abortion is doing it’s evil deeds today!

At CHRIST’s birth evil was at work through Herod until His death through the High Priests. JESUS was bullied and like us was bullied throughout His life. His friends in His hometown wanted to kill Him, His family didn’t support Him and tried to discourage His work. Roman soldiers used physical force, unfaithful friends abandoned Him in His darkest hour, and Judas the zealot had political motives which JESUS didn’t meet.

This is a life that all true believers encounter. They don’t fit in this world and the religious systems despise them.

Abel was killed by Cain, David was chased by Saul, Esther was threatened by Haman, the Prophets were opposed by the unrepentive, and the Apostle John the Baptist was killed out of revenge, Paul had to deal with fake apostles, and the Apostle John was persecuted by the Roman system which wanted to be GOD.

All of us hurt each other unintentionally. Through our sins and imperfections we can mar those that we love the most. But don’t be naive in your innocence. There are those who thrust the sword of pain into you deliberately and by design. These people are wicked. GOD knows who these people are and their penalty awaits them.

“while at the same time he is preparing judgment and punishment for those who are hurting you.” 2 Thessalonians 1:6 TLB.

Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of GOD, for it is written “Vengeance is mine, I will repay,” says the LORD.” Romans 12:19 NASB.

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use, and persecute you;” Matthew 5:44. KJV.

      Whether unintentionally or from the wicked these people can be anyone in your life . . . a parent . . . a child . . . a spouse . . . sibling . . . friend . . . teacher or student . . . coach or athlete . . . boss or employee . . . buyer or seller . . . pastor or church member . . . nonchristian or “Christian”. Boys bully boys. Girls bully girls. Boys and girls bully each other.

“The sins of some men are conspicuous (openly evident to all eyes), going before them to the judgment [seat] and proclaiming their sentence in advance; but the sins of others appear later [following the offender to the bar of judgment and coming into view there].” 1 Timothy 5:24 AMPC.

      Wicked people are anchored by a variety of ungodly attributes – pride . . . selfishness . . . jealousy . . . control . . . unforgiveness . . . revenge . . . judgement & condemnation . . . gossip . . . lies & deceptions . . . manipulations . . . their authority . . . their rights . . . their being a victim . . . defrauding and unsupportive. They attack where you’re vulnerable and at your most vulnerable times. They can actually be well liked (and not exposed) by those whom they don’t bully. They live double lives.

On Judgement Day they will be exposed, unless they repent. And you’ll be vindicated.

“No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; And every tongue that accuses you in judgement you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their vindication is from Me,” declares the LORD.   Isaiah 54:17 NASB.

We not only live in an imperfect world, but in a very unfair and corrupt world. On Judgement Day everything will be made fair . . . perfectly fair.

Meanwhile, Christians have an opportunity to mature as Christians and to gather rewards for eternity.

Humility is something that we all need more of.

A warhorse must be broken to obey it’s masters command. The ability to hear and the willingness to obey our MASTER’s Voice must grow.

Trusting GOD is to believe in His Love, Character, and Wisdom. Storms reveal our true heart.

Perseverance brings forth proven character. A life of bullies brings forth proven character.

Forgiveness must become a lifestyle. Remember that most people offend unintentionally.

James 1:2-5 proclaims that all trials can allow opportunities to find GOD’s Wisdom.

We are never to take revenge in any form big or small.

“Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil with good.” Romans 12:21 GW.

“He did not retaliate when he was insulted, nor threaten revenge when he suffered. He left his case in the hands of GOD who always judges fairly.” 1 Peter 2:23 NLT.

We must stay focused on GOD’s Purpose for our lives and not be distracted by the tormentors.

In a world of victims we need to move from victim to victor in our hearts.

We are never to compromise to lessen the pain or use it as an excuse to sin.

Never quit on GOD or His Purpose. He never quits on you and His Purpose in you.

Don’t take on condemnation for our failure. Repent when needed. Remember this life is to prepare us for our eternal purpose. While others promote their accomplishments, know that GOD sees the true success stories.

Grow in empathy. The world is full of discouraged and frustrated Christians. Encourage, pray, and help them.

Every time you’re hurt make the devil pay. Glorify JESUS, build GOD’s Kingdom, and become more committed. Take positive revenge.

Humbly, joyfully, and thankfully build a deeper relationship with JESUS . . . ABBA FATHER . . . The HOLY SPIRIT . . . and your CREATOR.

Pray more . . . fast more . . . grow in spiritual warfare . . . and learn true worship in all circumstances.

I use to see the book of Ecclesiastes as a list of Solomon’s failures. No they are a list of our failures. But like Solomon, let’s realize that it’s all empty, vain, and worthless except to fear GOD and to keep HIS Commandments because judgement awaits us all.

One of my favorite prayers is Psalm 38:17-22:

“For I am ready to fall, And my sorrow is continually before me. 18 For I confess my iniquity; I am full of anxiety because of my sin. 19 But my enemies are vigorous and strong, And many are those who hate me wrongfully. 20 And those who repay evil for good, They oppose me, because I follow what is good. 21 Do not forsake my, O LORD; O my GOD, do not be far from me! 22 Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation!” Psalm 38:17-22 NASB.

This pretty much says it all.

One of my favorite promises is

“As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive.” Genesis 50:20 NASB.

You’ll be rewarded for every infraction against you for CHRIST, whether large or small.

You’ll be vindicated, as the bullies are exposed.

“Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked,” says the Lord God, “rather than that he should turn [away] from his [malevolent] acts and live?” Ezekiel 18:23 AMP.

Let’s remember how gracious and patient He’s been with us.

Let’s consider GOD’s great love for them and that He would rejoice in their salvation.

Think about how many could be effected by the testimony of a bully in coming to CHRIST.

Let’s not be self-centered in our pain, but thoughtful of the pain that JESUS endured for their soul.

History is full of testimonies of the most evil repenting and finding eternal life.

Don’t believe big for just yourself. Believe big for the bullies in your life.

Your greatest witness is to love you bullies and to prove that love through prayer and blessing them. It’s difficult for them to reject love, especially GOD’s Love through you.

May we not forget those that we have hurt along the way; sometimes even intentionally. Perhaps, we can ask forgiveness, admit our wrongdoing, and bless them. If you have lost contact with them, then pray for them.

In conclusion, I hope that this message brought healing, direction, and encouragement to you.

However, the real question isn’t whether you were bullied, but are you a bully?
